"What makes this shot stand out for me is the great composition, with the focus on the flowers and the single leaf. The bokeh keeps your focus on the beauty of the small white flowers. I love that most of the flowers are still in tight bud, hinting at the beauty still to come.

A wonderful example of less is more!"

"choosing just one shot is impossible, but this shot from .sashi I quite liked- it has a playful, dreamy quality to it, almost a black&white shot, but the splash of color brings it alive. It does not matter that it's not 'studio sharp' the sense of the child running is conveyed through the photograph beautifully."

"There are some photographs that you admire for their technical quality. Others appeal because of the unique way in which something, you may have seen many times before, has been framed and portrayed. Still others appeal because they give a warm sense of pleasure as you marvel at the wonder of the created world we live in. And others for their sheer power to arrest your soul and leave you wondering 'what's the story there' causing your imagination to run free.

This photograph by Sam has captured so much. The children's expressions each tells a story. The subtle sepia toning fits well with the mood the children express and adds another dynamic to a wonderful shot. The high-key presentation allows for no other distraction and one is drawn therefore, with strong empathic resonance, to a shot that is a great portrayal of powerful human drama.

It is quite simply a stunning shot."
