I cannot give a "technical" reason of my choice ... i am not able ... but this photo makes me dream... i can look at it for hours.
I love the tones, but most of all i love the MOMENT.
It looks like a magic place.
And it has been a love at first sight for this capture.

"This is one I favorited a long time ago, because I like the geometry and the distortion combined with the semi-shallow depth-of-field. Great colors and contrast too."

"A fun shot all together, tons of energy, and it brings out the best of the panning technique, you feel like you are entering this fun little world via the shot. Love the contrast between what we know to be a pretty innocent, slow moving marry-go-round, with the high speed feeling of the "joust" going on here."

I love everything about this picture. It is truly beautiful. The composition, the geometry, the colors, the textures--it is simply incredible in every way. Very in line with my favorite style of photography, and very well executed as a piece of photographic art. Congratulations Sam.

I am nominating the shot for the Pinnacle Blog... the moment of capture, the look in his face, that bandana, the breeze give a great sense of being there. It is a token shot of yours and one that really represents your portraits and style very well. Has a great sense of location, the profile works perfectly.

Morning to market by Samthe8th

morning to market
morning to market, première mise en ligne par samthe8th.

Nominated by DownTown Pictures

As with all of the incredible images coming from the many outstanding artists in our group, there have been many times when I was taken aback by the sheer beauty of the moment captured within moment captured. There are many images within the group pool that I have faved, that I have truly fallen in love with, that have made me say, as well as I'm sure, many others, I wish I had taken that. Many of samthe8th's images have made me feel this way over and over again. But this image, " Morning to market", captures my imagination for this ability to see more than just an image requires more than just the ability to point a camera, It requires the sense of the moment, which one day I hope to have as samthe8th. I nominate this image for our blog because it tells more than a story, it shows what an incredible photographer can see when he feels the image instead of just seeing it.

"I'm nominating this shot for the Pinnacle Blog... such a fun shot of a normal scene - the depth and the people in the background bring the scene to life - the moment really captures the spirit of the location. A memorable one for me among the shots that have gone through the group. "

"The expressions on these kids faces... one so smug and the other's pouty mouth.. desperately wanting those sunglasses for himself... the funny haircut and the wonderful angle of the glasses with the reflections.. made all the more revealing finished in black and white is the reason why I chose this one... A great Photo and it has given me alot of enjoyment..."

"I've never quite understood how you process your shots, but have always been a huge fan of the way your images end up. The car in this shot reminds me of the movie "CARS" where the cars all have personalities, somehow the processing cartoonifies it, which I think is pretty awesome, the way the car is popped up off the back wheel and appears to be bouncing. The Morgan Stanley and Starbucks logos in the back, the 585 BWay add an obvious element of location to the shot, and the driver was caught in a great moment. The diagonal lines add a great element. So much to see here and comment on."

"There are some photographs that you admire for their technical quality. Others appeal because of the unique way in which something, you may have seen many times before, has been framed and portrayed. Still others appeal because they give a warm sense of pleasure as you marvel at the wonder of the created world we live in. And others for their sheer power to arrest your soul and leave you wondering 'what's the story there' causing your imagination to run free.

This photograph by Sam has captured so much. The children's expressions each tells a story. The subtle sepia toning fits well with the mood the children express and adds another dynamic to a wonderful shot. The high-key presentation allows for no other distraction and one is drawn therefore, with strong empathic resonance, to a shot that is a great portrayal of powerful human drama.

It is quite simply a stunning shot."
